Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association

The Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association is a diverse group of over 400 paddlers who share a passion for kayaking. Our paddling trips are organized by our members and are posted on our on-line message board 'Paddler's Express'. Members with all levels of skill and experience, create richly vaired kayaking trips that take advantage of the wonderfully diverse waters that our area has to offer. JSSKA membership provides opportunities for group paddling through informal skills sessions, club sponsored picnics, trips and events. JSSKA members also enjoy the benefit of discounts with selected ACA instructors and outdoor retailers. Our current membership includes kayakers from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

Paddling Classifieds: Buy or sell paddling gear

Our Paddling Trips organized by JSSKA members and posted on our message board, appeal to an entire range of skill levels from beginners to paddlers with a great deal of experience. Our members enjoy paddling the solitude of flat-water rivers and lakes as well as the challenging open-water of the bays and ocean. Trips can be as casual as a member posting their destination for the day and inviting paddlers to join them, or as formal as a multi-day trip requiring pre-registration.Although most of our members are neither expert paddlers nor instructors, JSSKA represents a wide range of skill levels. JSSKA offers an extensive launch site directory with details on over 160 places to launch your kayak in New Jersey and surrounding states. Local and visiting paddlers can learn where to launch and how to enjoy the great paddling areas that New Jersey offers.

JSSKA Membership dues are only $10 per year. To join, visit the membership page, download and sign the form and follow the mailing instructions. Members enjoy discounts from local paddling retailers and instructors and have access to club news and events through e-mail broadcasts and the Members Only forum of our on-line message board. JSSKA also provides opportunities for volunteering and leadership for members who want to make a difference.

Members are encouraged to develop their skills and participate in ACA sanctioned paddling workshops and instructional courses. Informal skills practice sessions designed to help paddlers refine their technique, practice safety and rescue skills, and rolling are also organized by JSSKA members.

Being a member of JSSKA will help you to explore the diversity of waterways that our beautiful state has to offer with others who share a passion for paddling.
