Paddlers should read the following GUIDELINES before attending any trip posted on the JSSKA website. Although a diverse list of regional paddling events are posted here, paddling trips on this page are listed for members of Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association. Posted trips are organized by members who are neither experts nor instructors. Sea Kayaking can be a dangerous sport. All participants are strongly advised to take ACA approved instructional courses, and to learn about safety, self- rescue, hypothermia, waterway navigation and basic USCG rules. Before launching, paddlers should always be aware of current and future weather conditions and should never overestimate their abilities. On all posted paddling trips, EACH INDIVIDUAL PADDLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY and JSSKA assumes no liability. Although this does not take the place of formal instruction, please take some time to review the following links which have very useful information and can also be printed: |
