General JSSKA club news & NJ paddling information. "Paddler's Express" is a public online message board for kayaking and related activities in New Jersey. Trips listed on this board are done so by those who may be neither experts nor instructors. Sea Kayaking can be a dangerous sport. JSSKA urges all participants to take ACA approved instructional courses, and to learn about safety, self- rescue, hypothermia, waterway navigation and basic USCG rules before launching on any trip. Paddlers should also be aware of current and future weather conditions and should never overestimate their abilities. On any paddling trip, each individual paddler is ultimately responsible for their own safety and JSSKA assumes no liability. Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to participate in JSSKA paddling trips, the JSSKA Message Board, camping trips, and events posted on the Paddlers Express Message Board. JSSKA does not recommend drinking and paddling. JSSKA is not responsible for anyone who choses to consume alcohol at any JSSKA related activity, paddling trip, camping trip or event.

The Kayak Workshop is the place for anything that relates to building a kayak and gear, but does not restrict the process to either traditional or modern building methods. Additionally it is the hangout of the rolling cognoscenti and anyone else looking to pursue traditional skills both on and off the water.
