Driving Directions:

• From North
• Garden State Parkway to Exit 48.
• Ramp to Route 9.
• Left onto Old New York Road (less than 1 mile from ramp).
• Chestnut Neck Boatyard will be on your right.

• From South
• Garden State Parkway North to Exit 50.
• Make U-Turn; Return to GSP Southbound Exit 48 and follow directions above.

Launching considerations / restrictions:

There is a $5 launch fee at this site. Pay in the boatyard office. This area of the river is prone to swift currents at times of changing tides. Expect heavy boat and jet-ski traffic on weekends in summer.

Parking situation:

Dirt parking lot.

DO NOT PARK YOUR VEHICLE NEAR THE BOAT LOADING RAMP AS TO BLOCK BOAT OWNERS OR BOAT YARD STAFF FROM LOADING OR UNLOADING.

Comments:

Upriver:
   - Approx 1.5 miles to mouth of Wading River
   - Approx 3.5 miles to Turtle Creek
   - Approx 5.5 miles to Hog Islands/Clarks Landing

Downriver:
   - Approx 1.5 miles to mouth of Bass River
   - Approx 4 miles to mouth of Great Bay (Graveling Point)
   - Approx. 10 miles out to the ocean

Other facilities at this site include a small luncheonette, snack & beverage concession, bait & tackle and limited gear.
