Driving Directions:

• NJ Turnpike to Exit 9.
• Follow Route 18 North towards New Brunswick.
• Go about 2.5 miles on Route 18, to the exit for Route 27 and Highland Park.
• On Route 27, cross river into Highland Park.
• Make FOURTH Right onto 2nd Avenue.
• Go all the way to the end and you will see the entrance to Donaldson Park.
• Follow the road in the park towards the water and around to the left to the put-in.

Park might be officially closed at dusk, but there are no gates.

Parking is close to the ramp.

Comments:

Donaldson Park is a big Middlesex County Park with all normal park facilities. Sometimes people sell food there, too, but you can't count on it. The Raritan around New Brunswick / Highland Park is very calm. It's around two miles downstream till you go under the turnpike, then perhaps another ten to the Garden State bridges. The scenery is mostly either marshes or factories, a few bits with marinas and houses and things. Going upstream there are rocks in the river, so depending on your boat it might not be a good idea.
