Driving Directions:

• Garden State Parkway to Exit 82 for Route 37 East.
• Route 37 East for approximately 4.5 miles to Fisher Boulevard.
• Use jughandle to make Left onto Fisher Boulevard.
• Follow Fisher Boulevard 1.5 miles to Bay Avenue.
• Make right onto Bay Ave and follow 1 mile to Shelter Cove Township Beach and Park.

Launching considerations / restrictions:

Summer Season: Launching of kayaks is not permitted at any part of the beach during lifeguarded hours. Because of restrictions during lifeguarded hours, this launch site is best suited for spring and fall paddling and sunset paddles during summer.

Parking situation:

Kayaks need to be transported approx. 30 yards (part boardwalk / part sand beach) from parking lot to waterline. Asphalt parking lot with plenty of spaces.

Heading North:
   - Approx. 1.5 miles to Cattus Island County Park and Nature Center

Heading South:
   - Approx 5 miles to beginning (North End) of Island Beach State Park
   - approx 7 miles to Berkeley Island County Park and mouth of Cedar Creek
