Driving Directions:

• From North
• Garden State Parkway South to exit 91 (CR-549/Lakewood/Brick Township).
• Bear right after the toll and go to the third traffic light (there will be a bowling alley on your left).
• Make a left on SR-88 East.
• At SR-70 intersection continue across to Princeton Avenue going East.
• Windward Beach entrance is 1.25 miles on right.

• From South
• Garden State Parkway North to exit 90(Chambers Bridge Road/CR-549/Lakewood/Brick Township).
• Right on Chambers Bridge road (CR 549) East toward SR-70.
• Left on SR-70 East.
• Follow SR-70 East to Laurelton Interchange.
• Get in right lane following overhead signs for Princeton Avenue and bearing off SR-70 to the right onto Princeton Avenue.
• Windward Beach entrance is 1.25 miles on right.

• From East
• SR-70 West toward Laurelton Interchange.
• Make right off SR-70 immediately past sign for Costco and following signs for SR-88 West.
• Make a left at light onto SR-88 East.
• Follow overhead sign for Princeton Avenue.
• Cross Laurelton Interchange and onto Princeton Avenue.
• Windward Beach entrance is 1.25 miles on right.

Launching considerations / restrictions:

Launching is not permitted on the main swimming beach during lifeguarded hours in summer. Transport kayak approx. 25 yards along boardwalk path from parking lot to fishing pier. Launch from small beach area next to the entrance to the fishing pier. You can launch from the main swimming beach at any time, except during lifeguarded hours in summer. Unload kayak on circle and transport to waterline (approx. 25 yards on sandy beach). Then move vehicle to dirt parking lot.

Comments:

Heading North:
   - approx 1.5 miles to Forge Pond Conservation Area
   - approx 1.5 miles to Pilot House Restaurant. Dock landing only.

Heading South:
   - approx 2.5 miles to Northernmost portion of Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (beach suitable for landing)
   - approx 3.25 miles to Barnegat Bay and Herring Island** (Small beach area suitable for landing.
   - Approx 5.5 miles to mouth of Reedy Creek portion of Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge (via Barnegat Bay).

** !Use extreme caution crossing boat channel to Herring Island in summer months with heavy boat and jet-ski traffic.
