Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742, Ocean County
Land owner: County
GPS Coordinates: L 40o 06.041' N Lo 74o 02.916' W
Water: Salt
Water type: River
Launch area is: Beach, Bulkhead
Launch area surface is: Sand, Mud, Stones, Wood

Launching considerations / restrictions:
- At low tide, launch from the small beach area below the bulkheaded area. A small wooden access ramp leads to the small beach.
- At high tide, the beach is washed over. Launch directly from the wooden access ramp which will be partially submerged.
Parking situation:
Parking is severly limited at this site during summer.
Comments:
Most of the Conservation Area is wetlands. The site is essentially a very small parking lot with a few picnic tables along a bulkheaded portion of the Manasquan River.
CAUTIONS:
- BE VERY VIGILANT - there is a great deal of jet-ski and powerboat traffic here including large charter and commercial fishing boats.
- This area is prone to very strong currents from the nearby Manasquan Inlet. Current is often confused with boat wakes.
- Be very careful of fishing lines being cast from the bulkhead area.
Note about the Putin picture below. The picture is at low tide. The ramp is partially submerged at high tide with a two foot drop off the end.
Paddling conditions have improved near the launch site across from the Point Pleasant Beach 7-11 on Broadway (near Spike’s) and it is now a good alternative to the Glimmerglass for accessing the Manasquan Inlet, etc. The railroad bridge construction is finally over and the result is a big improvement with fewer pilings and wider channels under the bridge. The currents appear to be less intense and there is a lot more lateral space to swing a paddle under the bridge. At high tide, the vertical clearance is about 2.5 feet. See picture of the new bridge below. The old bridge can be seen in the parking lot picture.
