Comments:

You can launch in the river or in the canal. Paddle north to Lambertville on the canal before having to get out due to a lock or south towards Trenton. The river has some areas with strong currents and others that are calmer with deeper water. Scudders Falls is a few miles south; a frequent hangout for the whitewater kayakers.

Sugested route: Paddle north to D & R Canal State Park on the canal then carry kayak to the river to go back downstream then back up canal from Scudders Falls. Plenty of scenery and wildlife.
