Paulinskill Lake

Driving Directions:
- From Route 80, take exit 25. (Route 206).
- Continue on Route 206 north into Newton, about 12 miles.
- Left at the second traffic light (Route 206 and Spring Street).
- Left at the next light onto CR 519.
- Follow CR 519 for approximately 1/2 mile.
- Left onto CR 622 at Sussex County College sign.
- Follow CR 622 for about 3 1/4 miles.
- Watch closely for two concrete bridge supports on each side of road from an old railroad bridge that was removed. Signal to make a right turn as soon as you see this and prepare for right turn immediately following onto Junction road.
- Right on Junction Road. (Chances are you go right past it the first time!)
- Left on Parsons Road (about 1 mile).
- Left into the small entrance to the Wildlife Management Area, next to lake, just over small bridge.

Launching considerations / restrictions:
There may be a portage across CR 622 to get to southern half of lake.
Parking situation:
Small dirt parking area for about 10 cars.
Comments:
Paulinskill Lake is a narrow lake trapped between two mountains. Roughly 3 miles
long, the northern half is undeveloped and where the launch site is, within the
wildlife management area. Once you cross CR 622 however the scenery changes to
residential. All land south of this point is private so you need to remain in the boat.
There is a private swim area at the dam at the southern end.
