• Garden State Parkway to Exit 82 (Seaside Heights/Route 37 east).
• Follow Rt 37 East over the bridge to Route 35 south.
• Follow signs to Island Beach State Park entrance.

The area is very shallow at low tide and may require portaging. Best to paddle the area at high tide.

There is a fee to enter Island Beach State Park. (~$7)

Launching of kayaks is not permitted on the ocean side within Island Beach State Park.

There are two areas to launch a kayak from:

- Area 15 (Northern Access).
GPS Coordinates: L 39^o 48' 28.1" N    Lo 74^o 05' 45.5" W
Note: This site is approx. 1 Mile north of the Sedge Islands.
Parking: There is a small dirt parking area at this launch site, but may be subject to tides. A paved parking area is across the street, a short walk from the launch area.

- Area 21 (Southern Access)
GPS Coordinates: L 39^o 47' 22.1" N    Lo 74^o 05' 50.9" W
Note: Best Access for the Sedge Island Kayak Trails (Marine Conservation Zone) and Barnegat Inlet.
Parking: **DO NOT PARK VEHICLES AT THIS LAUNCH AREA** Unload your kayak at the launch site at the end of unpaved access road and park your vehicle in the paved parking area opposite the access road. See pictures below.

Facilities are available within the park, but not at the actual launch areas.

There are two kayak trails accessible from area 21 which are outlined in the link below. Both trails are within the Marine Conservation Zone which prohibits personal motorized watercraft.

**Please paddle the area in small groups only and stay at least 200 ft from nesting bird species**
