• Garden State Parkway to Exit 145 (I-280 West).
• Follow I 280 West to Exit 4A (Eisenhower Parkway South).
• Follow Eisenhower Parkway to first traffic light.
• Right on Eagle Rock Avenue to next traffic light.
• Left on River Road, and parking area is immediately on left.

Launching considerations / restrictions:

Parking area has been known to flood during extended periods of heavy rain. Has not occurred since construction project was completed several years ago.

Parking situation:

Legal to park. Parking for 8 to 10 cars off to side but area for launch must be kept clear.

Comments:

Use this put-in for a paddle through the Hatfield swamp area of West Caldwell and beyond. Refer to upstream sites for take-out. About a 2hour/3 mile paddle to Pio Costa/Bloomfiled Ave. site.
