Driving Directions:

• From North
• Garden State Parkway South to Exit 30 (NJ Route 52/Somers Point/Ocean City)
• Follow NJ-52 to 6th Street
• Left on 6th Street
• Right on West New Jersey Avenue
• Left on CR-585 (Shore Road)
• ** Right on NJ-152 (East Maryland Avenue)
• Continue on NJ-152 through salt marshes.
• Make right when you reach the bay (intersection of NJ-152, Ocean Drive, Ocean City-Longport Boulevard)
• Launch area will be on the left side.

• From South
• Garden State Parkway North to Exit 29 (US-9, Somers Point, Ocean City)
• Follow US-9 to CR-559 (Mays Landing Road)
• Right on CR-559 and continue to traffic circle
• Into traffic circle and take 2nd exit onto CR-585 (Shore Road)
• Follow directions from (**) above

Launching considerations / restrictions:

The launching area is pretty much used as a dog beach. It is about 150 yards away from the ocean. Some surf depending on conditions,boat traffic and tides.

Parking situation:

Plenty of parking along roadside and also parking area by fishing pier before crossing longport ocean city bridge. no fee.

Comments:

This is a great put in spot for those wanting to paddle the ocean or the bay. This inlet is pretty wide. It is best to stay on northern side as the southern side is more shallow and has many sandbars that cause a lot of chop. Lucy the elephant is nearby in Margate on the ocean. Good location to circumnavigate Atlantic City.
