Launching considerations / restrictions:
Low tide will not affect launch
but will dramatically affect paddling the back channels in the salt
marsh bays --- so tide tables should be checked during planning.
Parking situation:
After unloading on the beach, drive up dirt road to park free along Ocean Drive.
Comments:
CAUTION: Jetski & power boat traffic heavy during
summer season in Great Channel, but can be avoided by paddling back
channels on quiet side of the marsh islands.
GREAT bird watching from osprey nests to thousands of gulls, terns,
skimmers, etc.
Ring Island, just north of Nummy launch, is a wonderful place for birds
and peace.
