Driving Directions:

• From North
• Garden State Parkway to exit 89 (CR-528/Brick/Lakewood) and turn right on Airport Road.
• Turn left on CR-528 (Cedar Bridge Avenue).
• Continue on CR-528 for approx 3 miles to US-9.
• When you cross US-9, watch for and take South Lake Drive on your Right.
• Proceed approx .8 mile and launch is on your Right.

• From South
• Garden State Parkway to exit 83 (US-9/Lakewood/Pleasant Plains) and turn right on Airport Road.
• Follow signs for US-9 North and proceed 7 miles to intersection for Central Ave/CR-528/CR-547.
• Make Left onto Central Avenue and then immediate right onto South Lake Road.
• Proceed approx .8 mile and launch is on your Right.

Launching considerations / restrictions:

No overnight parking.

Parking situation:

Parking near the launch area itself is small in size (5 vehicles)? but there are nearby parking lots for the playgrounds where one can park.

Comments:

The perimeter of Lake Carlsaljo is app 3.5 miles. The lake runs roughly east/west. Lake Carlsaljo connects to another Lake-I believe Lake Manetta. I am not that familiar with Lake Manetta. The western portion of Lake Carlsaljo turns into meandering streams with overhanging vegetation that looks similar to mangroves. Continue west through the streams and you will come upon two foot bridges that are passable with care.
