Kayak Camping at Round Valley

Open to JSSKA and LVKCC paddlers who are PAID MEMBERS. Kayak camp or just day paddle.

*****

2 nights of camping; 2 days of paddling. You can stay Friday and/or Saturday night(s). The campsites are ones that you paddle up to.

Friday, we will put in at the in-park boat launch* at 7 p.m., paddle to the site and set up camp.

Saturday, day paddlers can paddle out to join us, we can all paddle around or hang out.

Sunday, we can paddle some more in the am, pack up, paddle back, unload and either paddle more, debrief, or head home.

If you haven’t kayak camped before, there is a guide and packing list here.

The campsite is in a secluded clearing in the woods and contains a fire ring with a grill, and picnic table.  Food is BYO. Firewood can be collected from the sties. Drinking water is not always available so you should bring water for both paddling and cooking. The restrooms are primitive and showers are not available.

We have sites 60-61. It’s a 2.5 mi. paddle from the put in to the campsites. From the put in, aim for the lowest part of the treeline on the horizon, heading ESE. Look for a blue JSSKA flag. The path from the water to campsite 61 is at N 40.60902, W074.80135 https://goo.gl/maps/fQEksXF9gUm2uD8u7 Campground map: RoundValley_Campground (1).pdf (nj.gov)
